Halton Hills was established in 1974 with the blending of Georgetown, Acton, much of Esquising Township and a small portion of Oakville. With a population of over 60,000, it is an area of wide open spaces, with farms where wheat is grown. The Escarpment also runs through here and other parts of it have wetlands.
Housing prices are less than for the rest of the GTA. Also, they benefit of the Georgetown GO Station. In fact, many people work in Downtown Toronto, but live in quiet Hamiltion.
